If nothing unexpected happens, I should attend Fosdem with a friend. So I can probably help a bit ;)
Ok it was a lot easier than planned to switch to UUID. Literary 3 line codes added and I don't need to modify the client library.

https://kde.org/plasma-desktop#kde-connect now feature a section about KDE Connect. Maybe we should improve this section instead of creating a new website?
@joricke the old screenshot in the Konsole website is here because when I did the website, the new split screen feature didn't exist yet. Without maintenance the page are often getting outdated. So yes this is part of this task ;)

I can help with the part 2 ;) I also think it could be useful to reduce the number of supported systems (updating projects to KApiDox)

I tried to unify it some times ago (at least the bottom bar), there is only one technical problem. The find label next to the text field is needed to create accelerator with setBudy. So it's difficult to remove and use a placeholder like in a lot of other places.

Use implicitly max-width with a bootstrap container
Remove twitter feed
Could I propose to move all the websites to invent?

There is https://github.com/titpetric/pendulum that looks promising as an interface to hugo. And Netlify is 'open source' but doesn't provide documentation to how to install it locally and work less well with gitlab than with github.
It will be quite hard to use uuid instead of integer id without changing the code in a lot of place and making the system harder to maintain :( It this a crucial requirement? or is integer id also fine?
If we are doing an update of relate.kde.org it would be nice to use the same theme as in other new kde websites.
An alternative would be to use gitlab as an CMS for markdown content
Yes it's quite possible to have a CMS system with support for pot files. I started writing one such system some time ago but this would also mean going full custom, and a lot of work since we will need to create efficient caching, making sure the service is secure and doing the long term maintenance.
@Itoscano Sadly there are no CMS that support pot files :(
And we also have nobody with knowledge of either Drupal or Wordpress :( (I learned very recently that creating a Drupal theme is very hard)
Let's make this month applications announcement in the dot. But I still think it's an issue we need to fix in the future. I created T11986
- Fix types
- Fix layout for mobile
- http -> https
- Fix modal
- Fix error in js code
- Fix french -> French

@ahmadsamir In PHP always use === and !== instead of == and !=
Ok apparently it's using neither the username not the email address for the linking the two accounts since modifying both still recognized to link the account together. I suppose it's using a sort of id. I will need to take a closer look if it's just an integer or an uuid. It's quite easy to change the integer id to an uuid in a django project ;)
@elvisangelaccio yes sorry I edited the message
according to the comment in the code
This welcome dialogue are very popular, for openSUSE this looks like this:. Note this is a distribution welcome dialogue and not a first run dialogue like in KDE 2 with configuration. So I wouldn't include configuration links.
Another related todo would be to update/rewrite https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/KCM_HowTo after this template is merged and include information about it ;)

Current progress can be followed at https://identity.carlschwan.eu/ ;) I didn't setup sending mail yet, so let me know if you want to test it so that I can manually give you the link with the registration token.

Just for info, this patch was pushed we other (probably automated) commits.
Note this terminology is mostly not visible to the user until it is: e.g docs.kde.org. I don't mind the word Extragear but this should be only an internal terminology.
Should we close this task now or it is still relevant?
Some Krita contributors (@kamathraghavendra) are hosting their own discourse instance at krita-artist.org now. I think it would be interesting to see how well it work for their needs (less help request on irc, better user to user support, better community engagement, ...) .
Probably need to be closed in favor of T11675
I think one of the goal of Calamares was to be distribution independent and DE independent (the universal installer). So I don't think using KDE design decision is a good idea, but making Calamares more themable would be cool ;)
I get a file not found error :(
@jriddell Can you make shared note link editable?
Blender fund use a simple CMS system to manage the content. The fixtures to generate the initial content is located at:
The work concerning KDE Identity is tracked in T8449. I already contacted the blender devs some time ago for license clarification and possible upstream of some features (2fa, multiple emails address support), but I didn't have the time until recently to work more on it (moving all the KDE website to php7 and some problems in the mediaWiki instances).
Ok, I will try to provide by the end of this week a working prototype with some but not all requested features and instruction how to deploy without docker and with Apache.
Thanks it worked :)
I create a upstream bug report: https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T237163
I'm doing some using blender id as a replacement for KDE identity. This would allow to get a krita fund based on blender fund 'very easily'.

@jriddell I don't see any advantage of using dot.kde.org instead of kde.org/announcements for this, other than the fact that the dot support RSS.
Some context for this change:
Sat, Nov 2
I already added a .htaccess to the jekyll branch with some redirection so that the user don't get 404 errors.
I'm sure we can work together :) I'm currently doing the support page (documentation, faq, ...), if you want you can do the homepage ;)
Yes let's close it and redirect to https://kde.carlschwan.eu/applications/utilities/

I would really love to see it too and I think I will anyway need it at one point, but I don't have the time and any experience with vuejs prerendering or server side rendering. If you would like to contribute, I could guide you around the current
horrible beautiful code. It shouldn't be too difficult to do since the entire data structure is already stored in multiple json files.
@joricke I had a similar idea and a very WIP prototype using VueJs. But one of the drawback of using a web application is that it is more difficult to get good SEO. kde.org/applications is responsible for 44% of the traffic on kde.org and I don't want to affect this number.
