@vonreth My msvc installation did not set such variables and it was necessary to find out in the code what is happening, this PR adds such error message to notify the user what is going on and how to fix that.

It hasn't updated what phab shows.

Also, this PR is really important to help Craft since the patch command used to apply .diffs/patchs can't move/rename files.
This patch needs to be added manually to do the build.
