Thanks, that'd be great. I'll try doing the more basic things.

qmlnet allows .NET/C# apps to use Qt/QML. The developer doesn't have time for it anymore, but it's not abandoned. Incubating would help it's maintenance, and if we get the resources to extend it to Kirigami/the most important Frameworks, it would allow many new developers to get into KDE. Or move their legacy Windows apps using C# to Linux.

Is there a possibility that content we don't want there gets featured on kockatoo if it's federate-by-default and we don't have the resources to actively moderate it?

It's probably not much of use, but fwiw, a long while ago I made a presentation templeate:

Basically how I think it could work is: The OEM picks a distro they support the most, and their default config/image is used for the tests.
So KDE would not be the primary one to work on the distros and hardware compatibility - we would verify that the integrations work well, and most of all work well with KDE software.
I'd be happy to work on this of course, but so far not many people (=0) are interested to be in the team.
This would work best if the nth iteration of the "what to do with neon" discussion moves a lot forward as well - since neon (=and Tuxedo OS) is shipping on consumer hardware already.
It could include contractors working on hardware/distro compatibility, but the end goal is that manufacturers themselves will work more on being KDE-compatible.

another idea for all kind of graphical material: show the Plasma logo (old or new) from different natural, unusual materials - kinda positioning it as something "organic" or custom made, as opposed to properitaryOS that tries to be extremely futuristic, high-tech and trendy
How about something like "Release6" ? companion to "# Plasma6"

Should this include visual elements or just written content?

Carl has worked a lot on the page, so it's not relevant anymore (but I'm still gonna send it because I'm stubborn), but here's an inconsistent mockup for the fundraiser + a countdown.
Sep 20 2023
can you do a yearly one but paid every month?
if not that, a yearly one that also shows how much it'll be per month?
Sep 11 2023
Displaying members right on the /donate page (like the Blender or Krita funds do) can also be an incentive
Sep 8 2023
Not strictly about this campaign, but giving supporting members a badge on Discuss might also help somewhat - also technically maybe impossible?
Or we could even look at incentivizing donating regularly by sending a printed “Thank You” note with a few stickers after large donations, although I imagine that'd be a logistical n̶i̶g̶h̶t̶m̶a̶r̶e̶ challenge.
The simplest change with no likely actual result could be changing the default selection on Donorbox to 'monthly'.
I had an idea for a countdown page, maybe we could add to that another, "fund-calculator" section

I suggest September 2nd half (2) or October 1st half (1) to have more than enough time after the sprint to do stuff we won't finish there
Jul 25 2023
If we want to do high-level planning for Plasma 6 promo, September might be best (if the release is around December), by November we'd be too late for a lot of things

idea: a /plasma6 page with a release date countdown, some (but only a few) blog posts, screenshots and KDE's socials?

@pinheiro 's idea of determining 3 things we want the wallpaper to make you feel would be really useful here because of all the options
Just my 2 cents: we should avoid HDR-looking, oversaturated, overexposed stuff at all costs

fyi: this'd be a workshop or talk. this event doesn't have booths afaik.

Is there something we should do differently this time, 5.27 being the last 5.x release?

In the foreseeable future (~2 years) there will be CUPS 3 which will bring a major shift in how printing works on Linux. This will also need our UI to adapt.
The redesign should be probably tied to that then. However, I understood like 10% of that talk 😅

For video, I'm thinking we should make a really quick trailer (like Paul did for Plasma 5.22 at first) with fast-moving stuff, screenshots, irl footage, fast- paced text etc. and leave the informative part to the article (?)

Here's a rough storyboard. It's pretty basic, but informative and not that hard to create.
Feedback/contributions to the content or editing are very welcome :)
Sep 12 2022
I think we can try a more minimal and primarily informative video this time after a couple of fancier ones.
More 2d, less glass, simple white backgrounds etc.

Thanks, @Guilhermems !
From the top of my head the 4 main ones to focus on could be:
- Day and night and animated wallpapers
- Dolphin selection mode
- Gwenview annotations
- Better accessibility

(Since I'm not sure I'd be able to go to south France, random ideas:)
obv. I'd recommend Budapest, because it's closer to me and Niccolló, I'm familiar with it, things are cheaper here and there haven't been any KDE things in Hungary, ever iirc.
But since it's far from most of you, a more realistic alternative would be somewhere in Germany, because the 9€ ticket can help save some money.
Even so, if Saumur is more convinient for everyone else, of course I aggre that you should go with that.
