Don't know if this will help but I use two combined plasmoids to achieve this nice effect:
The firs one controls the default sink while the second one change it's volume.

Two reasons:
- Don't require a client, a single shell command is enough
- It's open source! So It isn't really limited to hastebin.com, anyone could set up his own hastebin instance...
