I would not be against putting the animation docker buttons on the timeline but the space it takes would need to be very minimal. And maybe we should even have the possibilitie to hide it to reclaim horizontal screen estate.
Hi. I wrote some suggestions for your consideration in an Abyss task: T6122
I was told most of those suggestions have already been discussed. Other suggestions include being able to quickly change the Start and End frames by dragging brackets on the timeline, and also being able to change the past and future onion skin length by dragging other brackets.

A switch keeping current way of working as default would be ok. The way it works right now actually cover all different needs already in this way:
The thing is the new frame content depends on the action made to create it.

Points 4 and 8 are really disputable. If you still want them to be fixed, please add separate tasks in Krita: Abyss and raise the discussion of them.
The mockup is done, please track the status of the feature in T372
The feature is implemented, bug closed, but the mockup was really awesome!

I talked with Bolle Bib over the chat with this. It sounds like it would be more helpful for him to have the curve editor in a separate window.
I would think we would only need to show one layer's properties. Putting everything to the right was an idea. I haven't gotten much feedback on anything yet.
As far as I understood from your screenshot (link) the list of layers in the curve editing docker is not a must. How do you think, could we live without it? Like being able to show the curve editor to the right of the main timeline? It would make Jouni's life much easier :)

Jouni did all of these points. Closing

And we should add the fact that there are various ways to contribute to krita like this, and invitation to our community.
little story...
"After the release of Krita 3.0, the animation edition, Saisho Kazuki, professional Japanese animator adopted Krita as one of his tools. He readily agreed to our request to contribute a template he made for his work to us. His template is based on true steps of animation which are used in Japanese Anime Studios."
Timothee, are we ready to land this now? We probably could make a little story about it. It also reminds me I still have to unbreak saving templates...

His name is Saisho Kazuki. So please add it to the credit when we implement this template into Krita.
He sent a master file to me. I confirmed that it is translated into English completely.

The master file:
I already made translation to these text

and requested him to replace them into translated ones.
Hi,
thanks for the template.
I'm looking at adding it to default install, but there's still all the text in the hidden layers that is in Japanese.
I think these should be translated to english too. (maybe we can also have a fully untranslated japanese version, but those need to be separate... )

I'd like to understand what this is about, but I don't know any russian..
Usually a wipe, yes, but in that case you can just press clear or delete. Keeping the modular way of working is very valuable too.

@timotheegiet says it still doesn't work
After testing, we found it's fixed now!

Should be fixed in https://phabricator.kde.org/rKRITA90f92507e15b
I cannot reproduce this crash... And I don't actually see how it could happen. The only option I can see is: deleting a frame in a background while saving the document. Though I cannot see how it could happen.

See my comment on the other task, it'd be great if you first commented on the forums about this, or if you made a bugreport at bugs.kde.org. Not here.
Sfepa, please read our feature request guide: https://krita.org/item/ways-to-help-krita-work-on-feature-requests/

yeah, getting that one commonly as well... I am suspecting this only happens on development versions, so lowering the severity.
I'm trying to reproduce this bug, yet without success.
But I got this message once while animating:

this only happens in development versions, btw.

yes, though I didn't see this task before, and dmitry only asked me for 12px icons, so there is no special version for HI-DPI for now.
Though since we don't have such HI-DPI version for any other icon, I think we can close it.
@timotheegiet, @dkazakov , this was done, yes?
