For wallpaper, for better or worse, I would prefer it to match what KDE shipped with that version of Plasma, and offer the winner of the contest as an alternative.
I like the blue gear much more than Konqi, and I liked Konqi much more than the face with the colored nose.

I assume it is too late for this release, but Qupzilla has been accepted into the KDE Incubator as Falkon: https://community.kde.org/Incubator/Projects/Falkon

I downloaded today's ISO (http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/daily-live/20170822/artful-desktop-amd64.iso) and I used the arrow keys to go through the slide show, and I did not see the slide with the offending typo.
That said, on a separate slide, where icons for the installed software are laid out in a grid, Amarok is still there.
Was it not removed from the ISO?

[09:36] <mamarley> Are we talking about the Qt5.9 PPA? I've been running that for a few days now (along with the various staging- PPAs and some packages from those that I rebuilt myself) and I haven't had any issues. :)
So, today, BluesKaj was successful, as was I. From the resolved bug report: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=382483
[07:12] <BluesKaj> mparillo, so far so good with the "Qt 5.9 transition in a PPA" no crashes or glitches with dolphin, system settings, chrome. muon, konversation, vlc, mpv or nvidia graphics and intel audio

The following packages will be removed by the update: qtvirtualkeyboard-plugin (5.7.1+dfsg-1).
This package is perfectly installable for me. What happens if you try to run apt install qtvirtualkeyboard-plugin?
I added the PPA to my AA VM, but Discover must have been holding a lock, so I could not upgrade using the konsole.
Instead, I used Discover, which reported 100 updates and it warned me:

After a re-boot, I sign in through SDDM, and I get a black screen with a box:
KWin is unstable. It seems to have crashed several times in a row.
You can select another window manager to run:
kwin_x11
I click OK, but I get a black screen with an oxygen cursor.

[07:48] <BluesKaj> mparillo, ok, I'll test that out
[08:22] <BluesKaj> ok mparillo, some old bugs remain, but otherwise the desktop and other graphics seem fine. Old bugs like changing fonts in system settings as root or mostly any changes to system settings as root don't hold the changes, I use a large montor so large fonts are needed for legibility. Also a new wrinkle, launching system monitor causes mtab fault popups by the tens..the only way to get out of the desktop freeze is to hold down ctl+alt+escape for
[08:22] <BluesKaj> 5 secs or so.

For ZZ, in a VM, used Discover to re-enable the backports-landing PPA, and perform the upgrade.
For XX, on real HW, used Discover to re-enable the backports-landing PPA, and perform the upgrade.
In an AA VM (fully updated, but clean from Alpha 1):
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/staging-frameworks
sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade

On real HW, running 16.04, I upgraded using Discover, without crashing it.
After a re-boot, krunner worked, launching kinfocenter, which reports FW 5.35.
Briefly tested the kicker applications launcher, gwenview, konsole, kate, dolphin, ksysguard, and System Settings.
No immediate, obvious problems.

17.04 in a VM. KInfocenter, Konsole, and Dolphin all report KDE Frameworks 5.34, with no immediate breakage.

It certainly works for me.
