"You can change it!" is not a helpful comment in a discussion about defaults. The whole point of good defaults is that they should work well for the majority of people and use cases without needing to be changed.

VLC is a Qt 5 app, which is great. We should get in touch with the devs and propose them to package it with breeze icons. https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?t=145054
Since one can customize his/her setup, your proposal doesn't bother me at all. Different people are likely to favor one setup over the other.

I don't think in practice it would be a problem to have the hotcorner separated from the Desktop Toolbox button. I wouldn't be in favor of moving the Desktop Toolbox patch to the left again because it's always supposed to have been be on the right with RTL keyboard layouts. Only a bug was preventing this, which has since been fixed upstream; when we revert our patch for the 5.13 timeframe, the Desktop Toolbox will remain on the right.

Thanks! Now we investigate the issue and try to find a fix. :)
This is my Neon setup. Hotcorner at the top-right seems reasonable to me. No matter how you set it up, there will always be somebody complaining.
Rik is right. The best possible scenario has been chosen.
'Often' is probably an exaggeration, since the recent reddit comment is the 1st time I can recall anyone complaining.

Thank you, Nathan. It should be fixed asap.
:)
Yeah, I had to create a new account to get it to happen. If this happens in Neon too, it's not Kubuntu-specific, so let's track the upstream bug report instead. Thanks everyone!
If I kill and restart plasmashell the behavior stops happening.

FWIW I *can* reproduce this on Neon with Plasma 5.13.2, which should already have the fix you linked to. But I had to create a *new* Activity to trigger the bug (was not triggered in existing Activities).

Actually, cannot reproduce in Neon.

May I offer for consideration kblocks?
Thanks! Now we investigate the issue and try to find a fix. :)

Can confirm. :(
@ngraham Like .pdf file that is downloadable from Kubuntu's site explaining in great detail what the packages mentioned in the task's title are and which are and which aren't included in the Kubuntu ISO by default. Just an example tho.
@raddison what is the actionable path forward here?
Kubuntu doesn't use ubuntu-report
And this as well.
It's not that https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ErrorTracker is not documented, but it's not very obvious to the user base (if at all). Trust can only be regained by helping people to get rid of their misconceptions. Granting them easy access to information plays an essential role in it. I wonder how can this be done in Kubuntu's case.
This task is not relevant to Kubuntu or KDE at all. If you want to make a request like this please submit it to the proper project. Kubuntu doesn't use ubuntu-report and KDE does not have any connection to what Ubuntu does or not.
@michaeltunnell Wouldn't you agree?

I recommend changing this to "Enabled", and in the "Configure..." dialog, set "Sub-pixel rendering type" to "RGB" and "Hinting style" to "Slight"
Please report a bug rather than creating a task here for every small glitch/bug. That way, should anyone else happen to be experience the same, they can find it in bug reports, confirm and give more info.

T7618 Probably the root of the issue.
Reboot might be required to take effect.
@ngraham Advise needed.
Now the question is: is this a Kubuntu issue or an Ubuntu issue? Can you reproduce the issue with a fresh install of regular old Ubuntu 18.04 too? If so, it should be reported on launchpad. If not, it can stay here.
Too late, somebody else already filed it: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=395618

@rikmills Provided you and the team is willing to accept some suggestions, we could give it a face-lift in 18.04.1. Please signal your willingness so I can know whether I should go forth with it or not. Thanks.
@rikmills Can you replicate this? It only occurs after fresh install, then it goes away. Very annoying nonetheless. I can upload a video capturing it, if necessary. Please tell me how can I help on this one.
