Promote KDE in niches: Education
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

The aim of this task is o coordinate the different efforts to promote KDE in the world of education. Under this task we will collect all the subtasks in which lay out our plans to help teachers and students to discover and use all KDE's educational software and other software that, although not specifically designed for education, can be used in an educational environment (like Krita in an arts class, KStars for learning about the Universe, Kdenlive for video projects, etc.).

This is a VERY nice website for educational technology: https://www.microbit.org/

I suggest we take a close look at it and see if we can apply similar criteria to our own site for educational software (which is being overhauled by @ognarb ) and the GCompris site.

I am a little bit lost, which criteria do you see, is it on a graphical point of view or about what content is presented?

This is refers more to the project for the umbrella website for educational software we are developing than specifically to GCompris. I put it here so we didn't forget to to look at it while re-designing that, i.e. it is an aide memoir.

Another low-effort but potentially highly effective strategy would be to have all the individual sites of the KDE Edu projects to link to each other (and to the central KDE Edu pages when they are done) -- thanks @aronkvh for the suggestion.

I just added the Made By KDE logo in the footer, linking to edu.kde.org for now.
