Looks great! Not having to avoid certain wallpapers is a big win for usability. :)

I tried some programs on different operating systems and observed that Ctrl + W generally closes the window if it's the last tab and even closes the window on some programs that don't support tabs to begin with. Konsole also does this so it wouldn't behave differently than every other KDE app.

- Center: the current OSD. (Default)
- Notification Area: shows a thin vertical bar in the Notification Area (so the lower right corner for the default panel).
- Top: shows a very thin horizontal bar centered at the top edge.
- Bottom: like the above.

How about dimming the icon for unmounted/ejected drives?
While I wouldn't use it (yet?) I think it's a great addition and would benefit a lot of people. I give it a +1, especially if D15739 gets approved aswell. ;)
All arguments make sense. It even looks a lot better without the red folder icon. +1
Looks good to me +1

+1 on removing style/type from the strings
Ideally the volume lines would show how loud an application currently is by having an equalizer-like overlay on the blue volume bar.
