I looked at @jounip 's approach, but it does not seem to work. Keeping a shared pointer to the root keeps the whole image in memory, but it can be accessed only through the same shared pointer and not by searching over the open documents through KisPart::documents().

Yeah I actually got that far yesterday. Stepping through the code, but wasnt sure if that is actually the thing.
actually the setdirty call wasnt working outside the lambda command. So i was a bit confused about calling it a from a higher level.

Well yes it works with numpad+ and numpad- keys as well.

Well I believe you are right. But the user will indeed have both type of zooms. The ctrl + +/ ctrl + - will zoom with respect to centre while =/- keys will zoom with repect to cursor position.

Ok i will do as you have mentioned. I had to handle return keys separately as they dont trigger actions.

I have updated the diff. Elements focused using tab key will be triggered by Return Key. SpaceBar is assigned global shortcut for play-pause action and won't trigger elements focussed using tab key. Should work for most part.

Ok lets look into it. It might be done through an ugly hack using event filters, but i have to research up a bit.
