Webpage advertising hardware with plasma

Description

It would be helpful to create a webpage which shows where you can buy hardware which comes (even optionally) with Plasma preinstalled.

  • Slimbook
    • KDE Slimbook II: KDE Neon ($720)
  • Pine64
    • Pinebook: KDE Neon by default AFAIK, but out of stock (100$)
    • Pinebook Pro: Mate, but there's a image with Plasma (200$)
  • Manjaro
    • Bladebook: apparently out of stock, should have Plasma option (350-420$)
    • Spitfire: website does not work? (1000$)
  • Zareason
    • Ultralap 6440: Kubuntu option (1000$)
    • Verix: Kubuntu option (1700$)
  • configurelaptop.eu: clevo computers with Kubuntu option
  • ubuntushop.be: has something that can use Plasma, but I can't understand how does the website work
  • Tuxedo: "For advanced users and selected devices we also offer ... KDE plasma"
  • Anything coming up with T12043
  • linuxnow.com.au is an Australian manufacturer who also ships Mageia, openSUSE and Kubuntu.

+1 from my side :)

I would like to do the same with some recommended distributions, but this is a lot harder to get a consensus from the KDE community :)

I've found that this is the kind of thing that some people tend to complain a lot about if you discuss it before taking action, but almost never make a sound if you just do it and then present your work. As long as it's even-handed and fair and you use criteria that are objective rather than subjective, I don't think people will complain. I recently cleaned up https://community.kde.org/Distributions to be a bit more selective and nobody said a word.

I think it would be nice to also include Pinephone (which gives an option of Plasma Mobile) and maybe even Mycroft's Mark II since it uses Plasma for its screen.

neither of these devices are available yet

Tuxedo: "For advanced users and selected devices we also offer ... KDE plasma"

Unfortunately you left out the very crucial part. See our website:

"For advanced users and selected devices TUXEDO Computers also offers openSUSE 15 with Xfce, Gnome or KDE plasma."

The "advanced users" bit is targeting at openSUSE, not at Gnome, Xfce or Plasma. We chose Ubuntu as basis for various reasons and went with Budgie as some simple, classic DE especially for newbies. This decision dates from early 2017 and is something we currently re-evaluate. Some details still need to be clarified but everything points towards Plasma as our default DE on all devices (ultrabooks, gaming laptops, mini & regular PCs).

That's awesome news!

I'm confused; right now I put TUXEDO on the "vendors who offer Plasma as an option", not "vendors who offer Plasma by default", as my understanding was that you offered openSUSE with Plasma as an option for advanced users. Is that correct?

Then, of course, if you were to sell laptops with Plasma by default, I would definitively move Tuxedo higher on that page, in the first section (possibly before the Pinebook which is out of stock and only the 11inch version use Neon).

That as well is perfectly fine. I just wanted to clearify things a bit.
