Update release notes for Dolphin 18.04 release
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

The release and promo teams are collecting release notes for apps included in the upcoming 18.04 release in https://notes.kde.org/p/applications_18.04.0_announcement

I took a first crack at adding a section for Dolphin, but this should get more eyes on it. We should also consider generating some screenshots that depict new features added in the 18.04 release and adding links to them into that document.

Once this is finalized, we could also add the information into Dolphin's AppStream file in a new <release> tag, which will result in all the notes showing up for users of KDE Discover and other software center apps.

We can take some screenshots from your blog posts, but the question is how many screenshots are necessary/useful. I think that having three might be a good number, one for the "Empty Trash" button, one for the dockable Terminal plus either sorting by "Date Photographed" or the git integration. Thoughts?

Yes, "Empty Trash" is a must. Others sound fine to me too.

I added some potential screenshots under the Dolphin section on the Etherpad document. Feel free to add some yourself. I figure better too many than too few, and the Promo folks can pick the ones they like the best.
