Description

As per a discussion we had in the VDG, currently it seems to be hard to onboard new translators.

Identified issues were:

  • technologies used include dated stuff like SVN
  • apparently integration with existing systems (like identitfy) is sub-par
  • documentation is not easy to find

What it will take

  • Improve translation system and documentation

How we know we succeeded

  • More people start translating
  • Translation is an easy way to start getting involved

Will you contact the translators before deciding the next steps?

For example, SVN itself is not the problem (abut the lack of an optional higher level interface may be). And so on.

Shall we merge T11070 onto this or vice versa? I think those two have the same goal.

sounds good to me, yeah. Note that I only created this following a discussion after I forwarded complaint from a 5.16 article in the news, I don't think I will be a good owner
