Description

upgrade adoption looks good, we may well be able to kill xenial in the week of Oct 8.

‼ make sure we don't need to build anything anymore before we actually go ahead with this ‼

(Oct 8 update: upgrade rate coming to a crawl. EOL notification needs pushing out and then we can move ahead with killing)

blockers:

  • snap builds rely on 16.04. needs testing+porting+moving to 18.04 (at least requires frameworks rejiggering as the original version isn't designed for an ABI split)
  • possibly should green up what we have or at least review why it's red?

All remaining uses and follow up issues of xenial have been dealt with and the series is now fully dead. All jenkins jobs are gone and the ci tooling no longer knows what xenial even means.
