It looks like it is gonna be hard to please everybody... :-(

It would be better to do it next year... For this year is complicated.

paulb added a comment.Nov 1 2017, 3:55 PM

Yeah. It looks like it.

Okay, people, just in case we cannot set it up for this year, tell us your preferences for dates in, say, the first quarter of 2018.

Thanks!

January or February for me is ok.
February would be better any date between 9th and 18th because is Carnaval down here and I don't have to work =D

I have no date blockers in first quarter of 2018, so far.

Same here, or at least for January and February. The dates that Lays mentioned for February would work for me, too.

(I mentioned this to Paul, but I'll write it here as well - maybe we should consider using Doodle or a similar tool for setting this up. It might be easier. Just a suggestion. :))

I was talking to Ivana, let's set up this for the beginning of the next year. A sprint with 3 days(Friday to Sunday), maybe in Berlin on KDE headquarters.
A doodle with the days from the second week of the year until last week of February. Then we open for the votes.
What do you guys think?

Sounds great to me. BTW two FOSS date planing tools to consider: https://framadate.org/ and https://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/

paulb added a comment.Nov 1 2017, 6:35 PM

Yes, let's do this.

Careful! Remember FOSDEM is the first weekend of February.

  1. Delhi (India)
  2. Hows december?
  3. Friday Saturday Sunday
  1. Bangalore, India.
  2. Feb/March, 2018.
  3. Any long weekend.
  1. Maastricht, The Netherlands (more probably) or Nicosia, Cyprus (less probably)
  2. Rather flexible after November, would prefer not in the weeks before and after FOSDEM.
  3. 2-3 days should be fine

Btw, if several of us are going to FOSDEM, it's probably worth it to arrange some quick meetup there. =)

Hello guys!
I created the doodle with friday dates where the sprint can start!

Hi folks, I was invited to add input here, so I thought it over. This year was a very heavy travel year for me, and I can't face international travel so soon, so I'll bow out. Have a great time though!

Updated my info for start of 2018. :)

Paul asked me, if I could join the meeting. I'll add my availability to the Doodle. I'm travelling from Nürnberg, Germany. Berlin would be a great location.

Thanks @zimmerman. Pity you can't make it. You can help us with the topics, though. Head over to T7318 and share your wisdom!

Hey guys, if you were invited by Paul and/or is interested to participate in the sprint, I ask you to answer the doodle until next Friday, so we can get the date and then choose the place. =D

Hello guys, I'm closing the doodle today.
So the best date would be either weekend of January 26th or February 16th.
Now we need to choose between those dates and get a place. Any thoughts?

My suggestion is the date in February simply because it's later so it gives people a bit more time to plan their travel and prepare for it.

Hi all,

I'm coming late to this, but I'll try to see if I can go to sprint and contribute to it.

Answer the first question:

  1. Almería, Spain (but usually I can get plane by Málaga or Granada)

About date, february is not bad for me perhaps friday is not the best day.

Hi @rgomezantoli,

How would people feel about doing it in... Málaga? We have a good well-connected, international airport, so getting here shouldn't be too hard, and I could set it up so that everybody would be well-housed, watered and fed during the sprint.

paulb added a comment.Nov 14 2017, 6:46 PM

Plus the weather will probably good.

paulb added a comment.Dec 29 2017, 4:36 PM

According to the doodle, most voted option is the weekend from the 16th to the 18th of February.

So

Place: BARCELONA
Date: 16th to 18th of Februrary 2018.
