Hmm, I think it would be needed to e.g. ensure sysadmin has backup of the non-kde infrastructure hosted parts like the website.
And normally one would create a falkon-... mailing list as contact point and a bugzilla falkon product.
Beside that, given the sources are now hosted on kde infrastructure, the license is OK IMHO and no FLA or other things are there most other things should be ok already.
But perhaps Kevin has more input for that, I am no "manifesto-pro".
Hello,
I think you're right, there's also the continuity agreement ("If the authors of the software abandon it or disappear, they agree to transfer the trademark to the next maintainer"), but really it's more a "we trust the word" of the current maintainer, not something very formal.
Cheers.
So, I'd like to make a release soon, what has to be finished before that?
I will pull translations from Transifex next week, new logo will hopefully be ready soon too.
There is still no CI build, but I'm not sure how to do that. So far what I understand (and remember) is that it needs to be added to logical-module-structure in kde:kde-build-metadata, but in that file the repository needs to be specified with "prefix" (eg. kdereview, playground, extragear, ...). So where is the falkon repository now?
I've updated the wiki page. The last thing is manifesto compliance, can we check this and finish the incubation?
Sure, perhaps Kevin as "Manifesto" expert can take a short look if he thinks all is in order?
I am not aware of any issues, but perhaps a second opinion would be good.
Well, that wiki page seems out of date: https://community.kde.org/Incubator/Projects/Falkon
It's where I'd look for missing stuff, if I assume the todos there are in fact now addressed, we're probably good. :-)
Before I close this task: Is there the idea to replace konqueror in kde/applications/ with this and release falkon (in addition to any extra release) together with kde applications?
Like any other application, the pace of release depends on the maintainer. But it's a precise choice: joining the release cycle of KDE Applications (which is just a bundle) would mean no additional independent releases.
If you want to talk about moving Konqueror out of KDE Applications, that's a different story.
