Weekly feature a (not yet popular) KDE application
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

Goal

Currently, we promote a lot of famous KDE applications and applications that get a lot of big updates, but smaller applications that are considered "feature complete" don't get many updates and as such don't get any promotion at all from KDE promo. The goal is to raise awareness around these applications.

How

Post a weekly post on social media, featuring the application, with a small text of that, can be done with the application, a screenshot/video (depending on the effort/time we want to put in it), and a link to the project page in kde.org/applications. We shouldn't spend more than 15min on it and could probably prepare text and screenshots a long time in advance.

we used to have a App of the Month feature which was made by various local groups and translated by them too. It was a lot of effort so it died when the energy left so I like this idea and I like the keeping the effort small part too :)

Yeah. This is great.

If we focus in use cases, concrete examples of what you can use each app for, we can probably stretch it so we don't run out of topics when doing it on a weekly basis. It will also allow us to talk about each apps several times (because most apps can be used for more than one thing).

I have an example draft for a post like this :
