Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Here we are creating survey questions to gauge topic interests, to help with creating promo material.

What we need:

  1. Catchy Survey Name (Allyson)
  2. List of Past Sessions/Speakers (Allyson)
  3. Welcome Message (Aniqa)

This year, as always, we are expecting hundreds of attendees from the global KDE Community to attend Akademy. To make it bigger and better, we need your support.
The Akademy Team, alongside the Program Committee and Promo team, are conducting an anonymous survey for Akademy 2020. If you have attended Akademy from 2015 to 2019, please take a moment to fill out the following questionnaire.
*Disclaimer* - The data derived from this survey will be completely confidential and only used for researched purposes.

We could first ask a general question about which previous Akademies has the user attended, and then in the following ranking questions only those sessions/speakers would appear in the lists.

I wouldn't add too much extraneous questions, if I were you. The more questions you add, the less likely people will finish it. Besides, if you limit the selection, you may be cutting off the user from something they would like to vote for but can't because they only saw it in an Akademy video, not live.

A simple skeleton of the survey: https://survey.kde.org/327193?lang=en

Should all the question be visible at once? Might be good to divide into pages, if the ranked question grows to large with proper selections.

It depends on the number of speakers and sessions. Still, I would prefer all questions at once.

Dividing into pages will probably be a must. I only found sessions in detail from 2017 to 2019. I will upload them here shortly or can email you an .xls file (whichever you prefer honestly). But just those 3 years resulted in a lot of sessions to choose from... Also maybe rather than saying "Rank the sessions/speakers you preferred" we can say something to the effect of "From the last 3 years of Akademy, please choose your top 3 most memorable talk sessions from the list" ... We can also seriously narrow down the list once I do some more research on which videos have the most views.

Top 3 will be an ideal solution if the list is long.

Email me the list at adam.szopa@kde.org after you narrow it down to your liking please :)

As you can see in the current version, you can submit the answer even if you rank only 1 item, so we can be as flexible here as we want.

Awesome! I will shoot you an email tomorrow by EOB... Have to run to cook now :) I have uploaded the full list of talks in the mean time!

@allyson I would recommend avoiding sharing documents in proprietary formats on here. I think Excel can save as ODS, which is the native LibreOffice format. Please us that.

One problem that I see with that is hardly anyone would have watched them there as they are primarily distributed by our CDN. Most people in KDE would there for not be accounted for in any stats you generate
