I agree that it should be taken into account, and the interaction should never feel frustrating. But I think we can easily achieve both without loosing anything. Looking at the table I wrote above, which is very consistent, do you think it would create frustation for the user?

Is the code here common between X11 and Wayland sessions? Or is there other code involved for Wayland that needs to be addressed separately? 408594 is reproduceable for me on Wayland as well as X11, which is why I ask.
