One of the open problems is that there is no highlighting for the column you in. Additionally it's not always possible to distinguish between a list item that is selected and one that has focuse.

All mime-type icons have been importet.
Note that there is no inverted version so the icons typically look shit on dark background.

The symptoms I see are:
- minor touches on the touchpad result in the view dashing off in one direction, it's very hard to just scroll a little.
- scrolling full speed looks ok, but stopping where I want is again pretty hard
While IMO usability is still horrible I'm not sure what to do about it. Its possible that the scrolling doesn't work for me very well for hardware reasons, or that the current implementation just doesn't work very well for desktop systems (could even be resolution dependent). I think we'll leave it just as it is for the time being, because otherwise we'd likely have to do something more or less from scratch.
We'll ignore this usability issue for now for the aforementioned reasons.

done.
we might want to polish this in the future and add a hover/focus/clicked effect but it's good for now.

use "document-save" for download
use no icon but whole delegate for open

focus visualization is done

Instead of having nested parts will also aim for flat lists. The only recursive viewer necessary is for embedded messages.
Possibly because we i.e. don't handle embedded messages (and possibly similar other things).

I am happy to try.
Jup, we had a spontaneous discussion about it today, let's discuss it during the meeting tomorrow.
True, but I think it works well in this case.
In T6046#93056, @cmollekopf wrote:The plan is:
- No busy/error indicator on folder or account
- Single status text in status bar (perhaps with icon if useful)
- Progressbar next to status text for longer operations
- Progressbar on top of maillist (as maillist delegate so can be scrolled away from) for the special case of "I'm waiting for a new email and therefore I'm waiting until this becomes available.
This solution gives use in general very little visual noise. More detail information is available in the Log/Timeline view. Certainly errors and alike, and potentially progress on all ongoing operations (if we find that useful.).
Jens has some composer mockups in the pipe afaik

Makes sense.
Arguably we should focus less on trying to get the conversation view to solve what is really better solved elsewhere.
- The composer can take on drafts. By offering a list of drafts directly in the composer view we pretty much remove the need to go to the drafts folder in the conversation view.
- Sent emails could be available from a "History/Timeline" view:
- You've sent email X to Y
- You create draft X
- You've sent email A to B
- You deleted X

We now manage the different views with a stackview. This will require some work on how the user interaction exactly works (in which case do we push items onto the stack and in which case do we simply switch between views, when do we destroy views (so the state gets reset), ....) but in general this seems to work nicely.
Yes. Just pushed the first step. Now, I'll move the composer into the new layout as well.
Works good enough for my daily needs so far.
We need to take another look at the "has focus" visualisation.
are you already working on this?
Minimum bar to consider this done is that the composer, the mailview and the addressbook become individual fullscreen views.

Some templates apparently don't work in qt 5.7
