What is it

freenode #live is a community-focused live event designed to build and strengthen relationships between Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) developers and users. freenode live seeks to raise awareness of and promote FOSS alternatives to proprietary software. Facilitating face-to-face interaction, creative workshops, talks and think tanks, freenode #live will bring developers and users together in a nurturing and dynamic environment stimulating the free exchange of ideas and information while fostering cross-project collaboration and dialogue for innovation.

November 3 - 4, 2018, Bristol/United Kingdom

What do we want to achieve

  • maintain our relationship with Freenode / PIA
  • show off to more "regular" users of KDE
  • promote our diversity achievements

  • run a stand with Dave and Adriaan

@davidedmundson : can you bring a monitor? since you're driving down that ought to fit. Although a different task says "giant monitor a must" I don't think we should do that last-minute here. Besides, the number of expected attendees is much lower than ELCE, so cost is a thing.

I will bring a 24" monitor.

Internal notes about the event:

  • basically same talking points as at ELCE; we went over them somewhat the evening before the event, and that was more than enough.
  • tablecloth worked really well.
  • when doing booth setup, good idea to keep a checklist of how you want to run things. I forgot to play the videos entirely.
  • event was fairly small, but it was good for our sponsor relations to be there.

New business cards would be a plus.
