I assume that a tab should be added in the left sidebar (see attached screenshot). Is that the desired result?

The idea is indeed to have another tab and to be able to query the database to get the music by date.

You will have to define what will be inside years or how the view will be presented.

That is in my mind a job that should involve the design people inside the Elisa project and inside the KDE Community.
