Ship the plasma-workspace-wallpapers package by default in Kubuntu
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Kubuntu should ship with the plasma-workspace-wallpapers package by default, which will provide a nice assortment of pretty wallpapers. Also, this package should get better and prettier over time due to D17780 and T10220.

Manjaro's KDE version already installs this package by default. We should too!

Are upstream changes being looked at likely for plasma 5.15?

Yes. I expect at least D17780 (in some form) to land in 5.15. Possibly T10220 too, if we move fast enough.

I've been a bit outside of civilizations's reach since X-mas, but am back tomorrow so Rooty and I should send in our first proposal for T10220 by the end of the year. Feature freeze for 5.15 is on Jan 17th, right? I think it's doable, I'll get on the IRC train as well to speed up the discussion.

Great. Once I know the eventual shape of that, I can look at what and how to best so things for us. (if anything is actually required apart from just using the new packages)

Hopefully just shipping the package should be sufficient!
