Use Static Icon for Launch Feedback
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Let's Disable the "Jack Russell Terrier Launch Feedback". This is what I call the annoying bouncing icons that follows the mouse when opening applications.

The "bouncy icon" has been the default since 2003 and maybe it made sense back but at this time I think it is annoying to a lot of people, myself included.

I suggest doing a static icon instead because it still lets someone know something is happening because there is an icon on their mouse/cursor but in a subtle way rather than an annoying "look at me" way.

As a matter of fact, the breeze cursor theme has a spinning "hourglass" in its theme. I think using that would be what most people would expect in this situation.

I think the spinning icon already in the iconset is a reasonable solution to this issue. Here is a video demonstrating the current available icons that could replace the Launch Feedback default, https://youtu.be/uYSNixVdYDE

+1, I could go for that.
