Apply Filter on Folder from Context Menu
Open, WishlistPublic

Description

Nice to have in our Opinion but not super important.

You can apply filters from the context menu of a mail but not from the context menu of a Folder / Account.

This could be an alternative to fullfill the usecase of T6984 to apply a Filter on a full account from the context menu of an account or when selecting multiple folders.

Is this a common-enough use-case to apply a filter to the entire folder to warrant adding yet another action to the context menu though? I would argue that triggering the action from the "Folder" menu is good enough in that case.

I don't know either. I think the usecase to apply a filter on all mails of an account is valid. So maybe just adding it to the account context menu?

You can decide what you think is best. We just need some way to apply a filter on all mails in one imap account either through the filter menu (T6984) or through the context menu. The customer would be slightly happier with the context menu as they use filters a lot and for them having them in the context menu would be a bit nicer.

I don't think the context menu for folder / account is too large and we have the filter stuff already in the larger mail context menu.

Running a filter from context or the settings menu doesn't apply the filter.

My test filter was to play a "beep" on every mail. It played the sound when run directly from the filter settings, but not when run from context dialogue or settings menu.
