sysadmin/release-tools.git has a nice create_bugzilla_versions.sh script in the frameworks/5.0 branch. A similar script could be used also for the Applications releases. Though a project released as part of the Applications module not necessarily follows the YY.MM version number. So the script should exclude the projects that follow their own versioning scheme.
