Hum, actually I can't reproduce this anymore.
I think it was linked to the fact the paint cursor turned back to desktop cursor along some weird ghost axis inside the canvas...
(as you can see in the video)

Now after some system update it doesn't happen anymore, so I guess this can be closed.
