Having successfully reached the initial goal of 15.000 €, and with 2 months still to go, it is time to establish stretch goals.
What we want to achieve
A list of between 2 to 4 stretch goals
- 1 or 2 goals for when the fundraiser reaches 20.000 €
- 1 or 2 goals more if/for when the fundraiser reaches 25.000 €
Participants
Kdenlive devs (especially, as they are the ones who will have to implement the new features) and other Kdenlive contributors.
Suggested Timeline
- 24/10 - 26/10 Brainstorm here and in [Kdenlive Promo Channel]()
- 27/10 Draw up 2 ~ 4 item list (maybe in live meeting?)
- 28/10 Announce on social media/blog post
Ideas
Suggested Stretch Goals from Reddit/r/kdenlive
- Motion blur pan transitions
- More shapes in slides
- More configurable title slides
- Graphical easing: Different curve shapes instead of going keyframe by keyframe and switching between discrete, linear, and smooth to approximate different kinds of easing +2
- Improved performance +1
- Boosting timeline scrubbing and playback speed +1
- More options (blur, etc), performance and stability for effects like crop, scale and tilt

- Automatically mix clips when dragging them together
- Rename clip parts
- Finer resolution on the waveforms shown on audio clips
- Track grouping
- Check boxes for color coded guide categories export instead of a dropdown list. This would allow exporting combinations instead of just one category or all
- An option to select a category of guides to be embedded as chapter markers in encoded video files
- Rename guide categories and have colored buttons on the timeline tool bar which would toggle them on and off
- Automatic boxes around title text: set a background color and box around text entered into a title.
- Image stabilization
- Automatic detection (and utilization) of GPU support, especially while editing
- HDR + P3 support with my HDR monitors
- 360/VR video editing +1
- Speed ramping +1
- Hardware accelerated AV1 option for exporting
- High-performance approximation of gaussian blur
- Performance improvements for when you have a composite of multiple copies of the exact same clip stacked on top of each other
