Icons-only task manager (Breeze) design could have a cleaner look
Closed, WontfixPublic

Description

Currently, Breeze Plasma theme makes Icons-Only Task Manager to display a white semi-transparent box of every opened app, but this makes the taskbar cluttered. A possible design refresh would be applying the box just for the focused app and the others that opened, a 2px/3px line with the accent color from the color scheme that is being used.

In the attachment, I'm using a modified Qogir theme to demonstrate the suggestion.

We used to do that, but it caused other problems. We had no good way to communicate the difference between a minimized task and an unminimized but still running task, for example. Also, using color rather than shape makes the Task Manager consistent with other Plasma UI elements which also generally use color to indicate a selected/current/active item. See T13054. I think this is generally in a good state okay.
