Description

I seem to be unable to get Kmail to work on multiple installs and when I do it tends to stop working at inopportune moments. If it asn't akonadi, it's something else. This has forced me onto Thunderbird in search of something consistent.

This task is basically copy of my proposal T11069, where my going in wider solutions.

Hmm, I looked at that but it seemed more aimed at layout than getting kmail to work. I will shift it over.

I would recommend merging this into T11069, which is broader and more ambitious. :)
