I have begun reaching out to various KDE communities about local megarelease parties at the end of February/beginning of March (see various "organizing a megarelease party" posts at Discuss).

@paulb At the moment it does not look like I will be attending FOSDEM. I will ask around the KDE Berlin community if someone can bring KDE Eco flyers with them and will let you know. Thanks for asking!

For the megarelease I have elicited some party game ideas at Discuss for local communities to play.

Another idea: Contributors have the option of blogging in their native language and translating it into English with a tool like Deepl, and we publish it in both languages. The mentorship team (maybe with Promo help?) can edit the English texts for clarity. I don't think this will be too much work, although it does add to the overhead of running these programs.
do we really want to translate it?

This is just an example of what I could imagine, but I am not married to this proposal and perhaps you have other ideas:

(3) Are there services causing problems? Which ones? Is there a reason we have we not retired them?
(2) Are there services we want to retire/add? If yes, which ones? Is there a plan?
Some answers I am aware of:
Perhaps some questions for the community:

Possible tl;dr / elevator pitch for the goal description?

Excellent proposal! A couple of suggestions and a few typos to correct, nothing major. Changes marked with asterisks!

Lana and I have prepared a script for a short (30 second) promo video and we would be interested in your feedback.

Thanks for the critical feedback and valuable input, Paul! Regarding the last point, it is not clear to me what is not favorable to you, and I can think of many examples of sound repetition being used in ads, such as "Maybe it's Maybelline", "Beans Means Heinz", "Leggo My Eggo" ... although maybe we do not want to promote KDE Eco in a way similar to frozen waffles :-)

I agree it is a mouthful, and thanks for the suggestions! I feel "green" has become too much of a buzz word and may lack specificity. What do you think about "Building efficient Free Software"? This also has a nice parechesis to it in the repetition of the /f/ sound.

Re badge: in our team meeting we decided that a website badge should be linked to concrete information (e.g., XML file such as https://invent.kde.org/cschumac/blue-angel-application/-/blob/master/applications/kmail/de-uz-215-eng-annex-7-kmail.xml) and not just a sign or gesture of support.

I have updated the content of the website template for KDE Eco and have pushed to the GitLab repository. @paulb I went ahead and merged the branch to master, I hope that is ok.

@paulb Thanks!

I like the intro!

I think this can be marked as resolved. I have been added to the website, and Eliza is no longer with the project.
I think eco.kde.org is great.

Thank you, Lydia! I have made a merge request.
