This is an alternative to T7981: Pre-provision KWallet with a wallet for the live session user to avoid double wifi dialog issue.
The relevant KDE bug was just fixed upstream:
We could patch NetworkManager as an alternative to messing with KWallet, as outlined in T7981.
I pinged Jeremy Bicha (core -dev who did last nm upload/merge) on IRC earlier to see if this could or would go in. He is on middle US time I think, so may be early for a reply yet.
This would be the better route IMO.

That update is currently stuck in -proposed pocket, so it may be some time before we see that on our iso.
Still broken on the live session for me, I'm afraid: after you enter the wifi password in the network manager widget, a dialog box immediately pops up asking you for it again.
So either the underlying issue is not fixed, or the live session doesn't have the fix, or else we still need to do the procedure I outlined in T7981: Pre-provision KWallet with a wallet for the live session user to avoid double wifi dialog issue.
I tried 3 different ways to reproduce on modern laptop (UEFI BIOS):
I was never double prompted. I booted a second box with legacy BIOS and again, no double prompt.
This will be fun to fix when it seems to be hw specific.
Still present in the beta for me. I tried on teo separate pieces of hardware: an old crappy one, and a nice modern one. Both experience the issue when attempting to connect to a wifi network that is identified in the widget as password-protected.
