5.11.5 -> 5.12 upgrade: Application Menu erroneously added to my window titlebars
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

On Kubuntu 17.10 with the backports PPA, after upgrading from 5.11.5 to 5.12, the Application Menu item was erroneously added to my window titlebars, so none of my KDE apps appeared to have menus until I figured out what had happened.

Curious. This did not happen on my main bare metal install, or the several VM upgrades I tested.

In my 17.10 VM with Backports Landing, Konsole and Kate have the regular menu (File Edit, View, etc.) Discover does not, but I do not think it ever did.

Right, Discover doesn't have a menu.

That's not related to this.

3 machines upgraded here without issue (just in case we are taking a poll) :)

I'm happy to hear it was just me!

I take that back, one system had a slight issue as I mentioned in Kubuntu:

On one of 3 systems upgrade to 5.12 (all 3 have hidden panels on the left edge of screen) my panel unhides twice when mouse is moved to left screen edge. The other 2 systems behave normally.

If I move the panel to any other edge, no double bounce. If add a new panel to the left edge, double bounce.

I bet it will have nomally if I stomp on /home/darin/.config/plasma-org.kde.plasma.desktop-appletsrc or /home/darin/.config/plasmarc

/me loves the "Set Sail for Adventure" button.

Just saw another report of this in the wild: https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/7vpwb5/plasma_512_bug_thread/dtv3t4y/

If the reporter isn't using Kubuntu, I'll report upstream.
