The goal for 5.8 is to create an LTS release, we have a ton of small visual glitches that we should check up on to ensure that everything look nice.
Add things to this task as you find them and we can look them over as time goes by.
Personally I want to check out the larger calendar which is in huge sections misaligned and not really up to snuff or following proper typographical rules.

Added a few bugs to this each with its own task
5.8 is come and gone, and we released another LTS (5.12) that we put a lot of polish work into, too. I think we can call this done. And the whole T6831: Top-notch usability and productivity for basic software initiative is about polish, too.
