Description

In this activity the children must manipulate object to find out some of their physical properties like width, height, surface area, volume, weight. Then a question ask the children to order the item in increasing or decreasing order.

In the activity, a set of object are proposed in a play area. A toolbox is proposed that let the children measure item. The children may have to rotate the items to make the correct measure.

So we propose these tools:

  • A ruler on which the children can put items to measure them. The children can rotate items to measure width or height.
  • A container full of water in which the children can put any items and measure the water falling out.

The objects are not necessarily presented at their correct ratio to make the measurement mandatory to find the answer.

Once the children make a measurement the item's metric is shown when he clicks on it, else it is marked as unknown.

When the children have all the relevant metrics, he can put the items on the bench in the correct order.
