Description

In this task we intend to organise KDE's attendance to SCALE 22x.

Timeline

  • Event: March 6-9, 2025

Goals

  • Attract new users to KDE software, apps, frameworks (for developers) and the Plasma desktop
  • Attract support to KDE's US Network
  • Grow the number of active users in the Matrix Channel

To do this, there are 2 things we can do:

  • Set up a booth where people can acquire merch, participate in demos and play with KDE powered devices
  • Just socialise with attendees, share merch (stickers)

Do we need any additional hardware? I have a Dell Optiplex 7060 micro we can use for demos or something? Not sure if I have a spare keyboard+mouse and monitor though.

Sounds good. I would also suggest talking to Michael Mikowski of Kubuntu Focus (depmann in Promo channel). We are working on tying stuff like Kdenlive and Krita to their hardware, so it may be an occasion to promote both things ar both booths at the same time. Maybe he can lend us an extra machine for the KDE booth for the duration of the event.
