As per AppImage guidelines, please target the oldest still supported LTS release, which is trusty at this time. This will ensure that the resulting binary will run on all still-supported Ubuntu releases.

You are right Trusty is the last supported LTS version (till April 2019) but:

• I don't know why but launchpad doesn't allow build on this version. Only the last LTS (Cosmic) and the following non LTS version are supported for build.
• Skrooge can not be built on trusty due to too old dependencies.

This is why, I would like to build the appimage on cosmic but this doesn't work.
