Description

Often, when I got to a review request with an ongoing discussion, I'd like to add a comment myself. But right now, I always have to scroll to the bottom, jumping over all files, thus loosing context to the other comments. See e.g.:

  • go to the last comment
  • now reply (there is no such action, but there's quote and you can remove the quoted text - another usability issue)
  • you jump to the end of the page, and cannot see the other comments anymore, only the quoted text at most

Phabricator comments are not threaded, so there is no real need for a reply function here - hence why there is only a quote function.

I'm assuming you want to view the previous comments so you can "reply" to the points raised in them?

yes, but often the points are spread across multiple comments so "reply" is not enough.

In the comment box, you'll notice a Pin icon on the top right hand corner. Activating this causes the comment box to stick to the lower portion of the screen. You can then scroll down the list of comments, writing replies / copying text to comment on as needed.
