In order to improve accessibility, the first step is to make sure that HTML produced by WikiToLearn is valid:

As valid code does not mean accessible code, other tools can be used in order to highlight accessibility issues:
http://wave.webaim.org/

On the next level, it would be good to ask some feedback from people with disabilities, e.g. screen reader users.

Formulas have their own subset of accessibility issues and solutions, a good read in this sense is this article by some researchers at the University of Turin:
