The code for dealing with .kim files hasn't been touched in quite some time now. A fresh look at what works well and what doesn't work so well seems to be in order.

Especially, the following bugs have been raised:

• Bug #416218 - Annotations get truncated to false but existing tags
• Bug #293344 - Import dialog buggy
