Revert "Keep image BG color when flattening the image"

This reverts commit 2c92f588e833e50f2ab2071e59497f11aa05609c.

Reasons for revert:

• the issue that the commit message say it fixes was fixed in

ad1f27076d5df97326 so the reverted commit is not needed

• it breaks changing the background color
