Loading animation change
Open, Needs TriagePublic

Description

I'd want like to discuss a "Loading" change.

Right now loading it's just spining view-refresh icon, it's it is not like a "real loading".

If just change the icon to gtk-convert icon, than it's more similar to something like "loading".

Loading animation from others looks more kool.

BUT! KDE loading animation must be "Kdividual", one of the KDE symbols is a gear wheel, why not to use a gear as loading animation?
(Just example)

Oh I love the gear idea! In general I think KDE would benefit from leaning into the gear symbol more. It's a good symbol, and already pretty strongly associated with our brand.

I created a gear icon (it's a just changed Konqueror icon).

Here a SVG, but it need a little tweak, center of gear is not transperent, it's just a white circle, i don't know how to turn circle into a background.

The gear idea is quite interesting. By the way, have you seen T11227? Seems like a similar task

Similar, but T11227 is about the (proposed) loading screen to show while an app's main window is being shown, while my impression is that this task is about loading spinners within the app's main UI itself for operations that are happening while the app is running.

I love the gear idea. There was a time when KDE had a bouncing cursor that was a gear, but it jumped instead of spin. The spinning seems much better and better branding for the DE. Maybe Plasma 6?
