Since the 21st century, Linux applications have maintained good momentum. With the joint promotion and help of open source software culture and free software culture, Linux and Linux applications are widely influencing the changes of our real world.
From 2019 to now, the popularity of the Linux desktop operating system in China has made leaps and bounds, and the growth of FOSS software has enabled more people to enjoy a free life. Further, how to reduce the barrier of using Linux, how to make Linux more productive, and how to get more people to join the contribution of the Linux application ecosystem have become frequent topics of discussion.
Along with these topics, KDE Network China and Ubuntu Kylin community plan to co-host a Linux Application Ecology Salon, inviting developers from KDE, Ubuntu Kylin, OpenSUSE, Debian and other communities to share FOSS related topics. We hope this will bring a slight contribution to the growth of FOSS software and FOSS culture in China.
