## Post-mortem and TODO list
### Goals
- Going into this event, again I was not super clear on what my goals were beyond "seduce people into using KDE software".
- This is not the sort of place were you would be successful in collecting donations, because most attendees do not have the vaguest clue what KDE is.
### Booth
- We had a Slimbook V machine running the Krita demo
- A gaming laptop for Plasma demos
- The 22'' drawing tablet
- A Pinephone running Plasma mobile
- An Android tablet running GCompris
- Stickers
#### What happened
##### Day 1
- Day 1 was mostly developers from the local IT firms. Málaga has become a tech hub over the last decade or so and has attracted IT companies and professional from all over the world.
- I mainly promoted Plasma and its utilities integration with technologies that I thought they were interested in, like the integration of GIT with Dolphin and Kate, and the new remote desktop feature.
- This strategy seemed to work well.
###### TODO
- Make sure I have working examples. I didn't going into the event, so I had to quickly set things up.
- Maybe formalise Plasma's developer features into a demo to better impress the people that work in thatt area.
##### Day 2
- Day 2 was Kiddie day! The best day. Again there were queues of children wanting to draw and play GCompris and parents to talk to about how they can stimulate their kids with Free Software.
- Many kids wen home with stickers that contain the URLs of the stuff they used, and parents that were seriously considering downloading our software to further the education of their offspring.
###### TODO
- Make bigger stickers? The current ones are fine for laptops, but for kids they are a bit small and the lettering isn't big enough to make out comfortably. If we are attending an event in which we expect young visitors, bigger sticker maybe more popular and attract more visitors to project sites.
### Kdenlive Workshop
#### What happened
- We had 8 people attend the workshop.
- As we had 2 hours, my idea was that, instead of having them follow a rigid script, I would have them got out for 10 ~ 15 minutes and record material from around the event and use it to create a video in Kdenlive.
- The theory was that
- This worked: after giving a quick tour of the interface, some of the default tools and stuff like the compositions (transitions) and effects, the got down to work... For a short time before the questions began
- Which is exactly as expected: instead of telling them what I thought they would need to learn, the told me through their questions, what they needed to know.
- I am pretty sure that by the end of the session we had at least one convert from Premier and three other people who became convinced that Kdenlive was a tool that they could now rely on, having met it before in the bad old unstable days.
- Kdenlive behaved very well, not crashing once on any of their machines and all the features we covered worked without a hitch.
#### TODO
- Improve time-management. Even with 2 hours, we ran out of time. In the next session, maybe set smaller more discrete tasks and give them a soft time-limit in which to solve them.
