=Description=
We should set Accessibility as an longerm goal. Our recent work is/was very UIX related. UIX and accessibility goes hand in hand.
Accessibility does not only describe Screenreader and Accessibility Toolkits but also a good focus and keyboard handling. What really needs improvements.
A good keyboard and Focus handling is needed for an professional environment and powerusers as well. So everyone would profit from that.
The linux-a11y group would help testing as it is very interested in have an good accessible destkop/ applications.
It would also allow to create automated UI testing using the Accessibility Toolkit.
=What it will take=
- I identified a list of issues we shold work on. (see related links)
- We currently create an section for Accessibility in our HIG. This would be part of this goal as well
=How we know we succeeded=
This could be verified if the Desktop/ Applications :
- could be used without mouse interaction
- a screenreader is able to read information as it should.
