##Goal
Derived from our Promo goals. We want to increase our community and outreach in more countries, including:
- Brand awareness about KDE.
- Increase and engage new contributors.
- Increase the number of end-users.
##What is the KDE Network?
The KDE Network will be a group of KDE representatives in their respective cities/countries. They promote KDE and it’s work in their local community. Additionally, they are responsible for helping to grow the community, and to act as a liaison between their local community and KDE.
Members of the KDE Network Group are Community Members who have agreed to help promote KDE. They use their knowledge of KDE and their public speaking skills or social networking skills or people skills to help promote KDE.
##What do they do?
- Participate at local events on behalf of KDE.
- Request marketing material, swag, budget for events.
- Promote KDE, FLOSS, open source projects and cross-community interaction.
- Demonstrate KDE’s products.
- Community outreach and act as a liaison for contributors interested to become part of KDE.
- Promote KDE at local user groups and universities with talks, presentations etc.
- Recruit new contributors.
- Onboarding, mentoring and fostering new users and contributors.
- Report on the activities related to FLOSS in their region.
##Where are we located?
The KDE Network will take place around the world, initially starting a pilot project in Guwahati, India.

**Meeting Minutes
18 March 2021**
- The KDE Network will submit the proposal for a session at Akademy.
- The Kerala team will write a Dot story/blog about the progress of the KDE Network.
- Public schools in the state of Kerala in India are being equipped to use the Qt version of GCompris, https://kite.kerala.gov.in/KITE/index.php/welcome/downloads. For now, the distribution has 0.96, but Aiswarya has contacted them suggesting the latest 1.0.
- Kerala state has not replied about the latest version of GCompris.
- Total schools in Kerala are 9,854 (6817 Lower Primary Schools and 3037 Upper Primary Schools, source: http://www.niyamasabha.org/codes/ginfo_1.htm).
- Kstars and Kpaint are in the curriculum of Kerala state and Kdenlive is being used for teaching and competitions.
- Aiswarya and Timothee participated in the conference ICEFOSS (https://icefoss.fisat.ac.in/). It was a paid conference. Videos of talks are available on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_99QDXBKYE). Timothee was the guest speaker and Aiswarya was there too. They represented KDE and GCompris.
- The article in the newspaper was not possible as the teacher was very busy because of Covid.
- The Kerala team will try to get photos from trainings for teachers in April/May 2021. Which we can use for promotions.
- Aiswarya is working on the GCompris tutorial.
