I've used the new reference tool for quite some time now. And actually like that it gets affected by the canvas change which is very nice when the users does photo studies. But I can understand that this isn't a behavior not everybody wants.

Is there a way to run scripts without moving them to /usr/share/krita/pykrita first? I know there is kritarunner but it searches only in the prefix directory. And not for example my current working directory.

Is the usage of PyQt5 final? Because there is also pyside, which is the recommended library by the Qt company.

I was tinkering with my not-possible to run krita checkout and here are the things which I got so far.
Obviously the CMakefile for sip in plugins/extensions/pykrita/sip/CMakeLists.txt
And I made some progress to find the root for my crash on startup. It must have something to to with createAction in libkis/Krita.cpp which gets called before the menu is available.
