Really like the look of Blender's welcome dialog, but also appreciate Krita's 'Hide after startup' checkbox. For users who like to launch the editor and start dragging their files in right away it's super helpful being able to easily disable it.

Obviously some further-down-the-line stuff, but here's a mockup of the timeline including:
- Scrolling on the timeline (With a persistent file label until the clip is out of view.)
- Locked tracks
- Track renaming
- Track repositioning (Mentioned in afarid's first comment)

I don't mind the dropdown menu for editing modes, and I can easily switch by using the mousewheel too. Having said that, I rarely change modes while I'm editing, so perhaps I'm not the best use case. In Premiere, 'overwrite' mode is the default and you can switch to 'insert' mode by holding down the ctrl key as you're dragging a clip onto the timeline.
Apologies for updating the diff so soon after the last.
Fixed my silly reverse diff issue.
Ditched uneccessary code and made a few changes to make the code more robust.
Previously, MLT files couldn't be located and placeholders (in the event of missing project footage) would display a 'Locate Clip' context item, but wouldn't actually tell the user if the footage couldn't be located.

They're not wrong there, my WordPress sites are always under brute force attacks. Have to keep an eye on everything to ensure no new plugin vulnerabilities have come out.

I use sequences all the time in editing, this feature in Kdenlive would be a game changer. Being able to import mlt and Kdenlive files as a virtual clip is essentially what sequences is, except you have to open their project to edit their contents.
Properly updated the diff. Removed all diff info that isn't related to the feature also.

Hopefully this adds this diff onto the previous diff...
Thanks for the tip with QUrl::RemoveFilename - I should have read the docs more carefully!

Apologies for creating this again. Shortly after publishing the diff before, I realised that my code didn't account for files that weren't imported into Kdenlive, and therefore didn't have a location to open.
