By removing this code you change behaviour: The initial idea was to not make the TextField echo immediately what has been typed, but visualize on desktop what the remote device acked via a network package. This allows for a kind of realtime confirmation of what the remote device *really* processed. Therefore the original event was not accepted and injected artificially onAckPackageReceived. This has some shortcomings, as the echoing in the TextField is incomplete with respect to the handled special keys etc.

Cool, go ahead then!
Maybe we can put it into the kdeconnect plasmoid, where we're free to do whatever we want. Like a new 'section' where we put pairing requests at the same time as the notif pops up and let it somehow pop up or highlight the kdeconnect-icon in the systray as is done for the notifications plasmoid once a persistent notification is added.

I see your point. Actually I wasn't aware that on certain desktops the action buttons disappear once the popup is gone because on my Plasma I still see them on the applet in the panel for persistent notifications.

Yes, I don't like the idea of gcompris doing tasks periodically when not running :).
Additionally, we will also have to think of a time-period in which if an activity is unused it will be removed, such that this thing doesn't become annoying for the user. Or, we could also think of having a default time-period but also give user an option to change that if he/she want.Yes for the "remove unused activity" we have to think about reasonable defaults.
I don't like of auto removing activities. For me it should be an user choice (probably in admin mode so children don't do it alone) and should not be automatic.

Could also be used for balancebox in the editor, which uses currently a single hardcoded target-filename for the "User"-dataset.
