Fixed all messages. Sorry for all the emails. :/
If we want to do that, then the line will have to go on the bottom.
Oof silly me.
Address comments.
(Those were just some things I was playing around with, but everybody was right and they weren't necessary)

In light of the discussion about https://invent.kde.org/kde/okular/-/merge_requests/156 and the new Calligra design, I'm starting to wonder if the pill tabs really will look good. In System Settings, definitely yes. In Okular or Calligra... I'm not sure. :/

Thanks @manueljlin , that would be really nice. Your designs are always breathtaking. :D
I'm not very good in the design department, better at actually doing the code, but I'm trying to improve. :/

Ok, thanks Nate! And I don't know anything about Kirigami, so I don't mind somebody else doing that @niccolove! ;-)
OK, it seems like mostly everybody likes the top-right, and I think I've figured out how to implement it. So please don't do this anybody else, because I'd like to have something to submit for KDE. :) However, before I jump into it, I would like to clarify a few things.

We could have an option...? I like both, but it's a bit out of my scope to do the EOS/macOS ones. :/
In T13012#227542, @squeakypancakes wrote:I like the bottom right one: it has the appearance of a smaller version of the SwipeNavigator component, which I think is a +1 for consistency.
OK, seems good. I'm almost finished, so maybe I'll be able to submit it tomorrow. ;)
What does this mean for the tab redesign I am working on? i.e, what should the tabs look like now?
Apr 15 2020
Hey, thanks for this @poboiko I used to have to implement this myself, so this will be very useful in my app, O20.Word. ;)

Sorry I forgot about this one. I'm still working on it, but soon I'll be ready to submit the patch.

Also should we implement this for GTK apps?
Ok, thank you for clarifying @niccolove . I'm sorry for cluttering up the phabricator.
OK, we could use Mycroft. I agree that you shouldn't try to reinvent the wheel. ;) However, I really think we should make it integrated into Plasma somehow, with a panel widget.
Also, Mycroft doesn't satisfy a few requirements:
- It sends your data to a server
- It doesn't conform to the KDE Manifesto (it is served on Github)
- It requires knowledge of how to use the Terminal and python, while most AI's are just for regular users who spend most of their time on a web browser.
- I was thinking of an AI which receives keyboard focus, not one which you talk to.

Yes, those rounded corners at the bottom are really nice! +1 on doing this. ;)

Hm yes. But once the breeze evolution is done we will have to push a lot of things into Breeze GTK, won't we?
Also it might be interesting to change the defaults for menu transparency, as to match the panel transparency:

Sorry I forgot about the rounded corners again. :/ I agree with you about the darkened background.
Here is my new version:
I probably shouldn't be discussing this here but in a separate patch, but anyways I patched Breeze so the tabs look like this:

Thank you for clarifying @leinir. Actually, I did see the "Switch to Desktop" button, and that is the interface which I am suggesting be redesigned. That's really cool how it automatically transforms like that!
And I think using the color scheme color for the whole background is kind of overkill.

Here's another mockup with framed tabs, @onvitaik :-)

Thank you @ognarb !
I have spent some time making a mockup for Calligra in Qt Quick (it's great for making mockups ;)). Here is how it looks:

I didn't know about Gemini! Yes, it looks nice, but the touch based QtQuick Interface seems to just be for viewing documents, and it seems like none of the editing features are implemented yet. But if that gets working, it will be really cool. :)
For the Words/Sheets/Stage, I can't seem to figure out how to give it the tabbed interface. So maybe adding an option in the settings or making it default would be nice for beginners. It seems like it will just be a matter of tweaking some things, for example some of the buttons look a little funny in the tabbed and docked interface.
I don't mind helping with this, but I can't seem to find any documentation for the Calligra source and API.
